Model: On-site Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 Position Overview A
confidential manufacturer of automated industrial machinery is
seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, document, and support
electrical systems for custom-built machines. This role spans
design, controls collaboration, and hands-on production support.
You’ll own electrical designs from concept through release and
support builds on the floor—and occasionally in the field. If
you’re looking for a theory-only role with no manufacturing
exposure, this is not it. Key Responsibilities Electrical Design &
Engineering Analyze machine functionality and develop electrical
functional specifications Design complete electrical systems for
custom machinery Select appropriate electrical and electronic
components Design electrical control panel layouts Develop
schematics, drawings, and supporting documentation Maintain and
document electrical standards for panel construction and machine
assembly Independently manage schedules to meet design and release
deadlines Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with controls
programmers to ensure electrical designs meet machine requirements
Support assembly and service teams with electrical debugging during
machine builds Assist service teams with field troubleshooting via
phone or on-site as needed Contribute to service and operating
manual development Escalate machine or plant safety concerns
immediately Product Development & Support Support R&D efforts
for new products and machine concepts Assist controls engineers
with software testing for new designs Drive continuous improvement
in electrical design standards Perform additional duties as
required to support engineering and production Required
Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Engineering OR Associate degree with 5 years of hands-on
experience in electrical controls systems Experience with automated
or industrial machinery strongly preferred Technical Skills Strong
ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical schematics
Working knowledge of: National Electric Code (NEC) NFPA 79 UL 508A
Experience with: Electrical panel design Mechatronics and machine
control sensing Servo sizing and motion-related components
Proficiency with AutoCAD Familiarity with SolidWorks preferred
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and engineering tools
Professional Competencies Detail-oriented with strong documentation
discipline Self-directed and effective with minimal supervision
Practical, production-minded problem solver Clear communicator
across engineering, assembly, and service teams Calm and effective
under deadline pressure Physical & Work Requirements Primarily
office-based with extended computer work On-site presence required
approximately 80% of the workweek Periodic work on the assembly
floor or at customer sites Exposure to industrial environments,
tools, noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature variation Estimated
travel: ~10% Tools & Equipment Standard office equipment (computer,
printer, phone, copier) Basic hand tools (wrenches, pliers,
