Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Spooner, WI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,272 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Spooner, Wisconsin, 54801! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Required certifications Description: Department: Emergency Department Trauma Level: Trauma level 4. STEMI and strokes are transferred after stabilization. Average census is 15 to 30 patients per day. Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:4, may vary during high census. Inpatient nurses may assist during high census times. Charge Nurse duties are assumed by the second ED nurse at 11 PM. Security is available during weekdays; panic buttons are used at night. Common diagnoses include urgent care type issues, childhood viruses, traumas, strokes, STEMIs, metabolic disorders, respiratory disorders, appendicitis, GI bleeds, and bowel obstructions. Experience in managing bipap and vented patients is preferred. Common drips administered include Levophed, epinephrine, nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, Lasix, insulin, potassium, magnesium, alteplase, Kcentra, propofol, Keppra, and Dilantin. The facility has a physician on site 24/7, with hospitalists available during high census times. The ED is staffed with two nurses and one physician at all times. Respiratory therapy is available during the week on day shifts. ED nurses perform their own breathing treatments and EKGs. Phlebotomy is handled by lab staff or by RNs when starting IVs. Shifts are scheduled according to need, from 7 PM to 7 AM. Weekend requirements are every other or every third weekend, depending on scheduling needs. Holiday requirements include every third holiday. Travel staff are not required to take call if cut during low census. Travel staff may be asked to assist with tasks on inpatient but are not assigned patients in that department. Any color of scrubs is acceptable. Department-specific orientation is provided over one day with a preceptor.
