and Respect. About the Role: The MDS Coordinator plays a crucial
role in ensuring that the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments are
completed accurately and timely, which is essential for compliance
and reimbursement in the healthcare sector. This position involves
collaborating with various departments to gather necessary patient
information and ensure that it is documented correctly in the MDS
system. The MDS Coordinator will also be responsible for training
staff on MDS processes and updates, ensuring that the team is
well-informed and compliant with regulations. Additionally, this
role requires the analysis of MDS data to identify trends and areas
for improvement in patient care. Ultimately, the MDS Coordinator
contributes to the overall quality of care provided to residents
and supports the organization's mission of delivering exceptional
healthcare services. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in
Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Current RN
or LPN license in the state of practice. Experience with MDS
assessments and knowledge of CMS regulations. Preferred
Qualifications: Certification in MDS coordination or related field.
Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents to
complete the MDS documentation accurately. Collaborate with
nursing, therapy, and other departments to gather necessary patient
information. Train and educate staff on MDS processes, updates, and
compliance requirements. Analyze MDS data to identify trends and
recommend improvements in patient care. Ensure timely submission of
MDS assessments to meet regulatory deadlines. Skills: The required
skills for this position include strong analytical abilities to
interpret MDS data and identify trends that can enhance patient
care. Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively
training staff and collaborating with various departments.
Attention to detail is critical in ensuring that all MDS
documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations. Preferred
skills, such as familiarity with EHR systems, will aid in
streamlining the documentation process and improving efficiency.
